Litter at Gordano yet again
Written by secretary
Saturday, 06 March 2010

Hi all this may or may not apply to you individually but please note the following;

It has been brought to my attention yet again that certain members are using the facilities available at Gordano with scant regard for who follow on.

The club does not employ staff to clean up after you, make tea for you or provide refreshments of any kind,

Dirty cups, crisp wrappers, drink bottles, plastic bags all scattered around the pits and spectator area, rubbish left in the caravan, the gas cylinder left on, both bins full to overflowing with all your rubbish.

Ronnie, Dave and I are no longer going to clear up after those few who continue to treat other club members as their skivvies, the rubbish bins will be removed later next week.

There is no “club supplied” Tea, Coffee, Milk, Water or Sugar at Gordano. All supplies that are there belong to members who use it for themselves. BRING YOUR OWN

If you use the cups or the cooker then clean, dry and put away and leave as you would expect to find it.

If you take drinks or wrappers on food then it is your responsibility to take them home with you.

Enough is enough. In future any member found wilfully abusing the facilities at Gordano will be sanctioned by the club Directors, up to and including Expulsion from AMARC.

 Pete Viner (Company Secretary and Director of AMARC 2002 Ltd)

article imageLast years article from Gary Liminton on slope Soaring

Tuesday, 29 December 2009

I will concentrate on two sites that I know well and both are very local to Bristol.When the winds are howling enough to put you off flying on the flat fields then it should be windy enough for Slope Soaring and here are some worthwhile hills to visit, anything blowing from the South West or West and around 20 MPH plus(that’s 4-5 on the Beaufort scale) will do but this will depend on what model you wish to fly and I will go into that later.
